Terms of Use

Last updated: 1 October 2026

Die Nutzungsbedingungen der MedLingo-App gelten in ihrer englischen Fassung; die App richtet sich an medizinisches Personal in den USA. Fragen beantworten wir gern auf Deutsch unter medlingo-support@nico-ai.de.

These terms apply to the MedLingo Android app (“the app”), published by LeakShield Technologies LLC (“we”). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What the app is — and is not

MedLingo is a language-learning tool for healthcare professionals and students. It is not a medical interpreter or translator, it does not give medical advice, and it must not be used for real-time communication with patients or for any clinical decision. Always use a qualified medical interpreter for patient care. The scenarios, dialogues and clinical situations in the app are teaching material, written to be realistic; they are not guidance for treating any actual patient.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Android devices you own or control, for your own learning. The scenarios, texts, audio recordings, images and software are our property or used under license and are protected by copyright. You may not copy, extract, redistribute, sell, or publicly perform the app's content, reverse-engineer the app, or circumvent the purchase that unlocks its scenarios.

3. Free content and purchase

Three scenarios for your role, with every feature, are free. A single one-time purchase unlocks all scenarios, including scenarios added in later versions, at no further cost. There is no subscription and nothing renews.

The purchase is made through Google Play and is subject to Google Play's terms of service and refund policy; we do not process payments ourselves and cannot issue refunds directly. If something you paid for does not work, write to us first — we will fix it or help you with Google's refund process.

4. Your data

The app has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and your learning data stays on your device. What the app does with information is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

5. Accuracy of content

We take care that the Spanish is natural and the clinical situations are sound, and we correct mistakes when they are reported. Even so, language content can contain errors, and regional usage varies. The app is provided for practice, not as an authority on either medicine or Spanish. If you find a mistake, please tell us — Settings → Report a problem in the app, or the address below.

6. Availability and changes

We may update, change or discontinue features and content, and we may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. We may suspend or end your access if you breach them.

7. Warranty and liability

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, LeakShield Technologies LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on the app's content, from its use in clinical settings contrary to section 1, or from interruptions in availability. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live remain unaffected.
